Quite by accident we ran into Linda, from Legible Leftovers today. She is working at a major bookseller, the job she had taken to keep Legible Leftovers afloat, along with tapping her retirement account. I know many of you are distressed over Legible Leftover’s closing and just wanted to bring you up to date. It’s very difficult to keep a used bookstore afloat today and we should be thankful we had this very special one as long as we did.
Oh, the cats are at Linda’s home and well cared for.
Any solutions out there? I would love to have a place where book lovers could bring and take books on the honor system as is done at some offices around town. All that is lacking is a space. Perhaps there is a coffee shop, or lunch or tea room that would draw in customers with just such an innovative use of their extra space. How about it? Any takers out there?
Hi Anhinga

Hi Beda,
Well said!
Hope you get some takers on the book store, it
sounds like it was a great place. I love book stores too.
Also nice to see you on the blog, I check it often.

Hi Beda
Do you recall a Robert Stewart who was in the band with you?

THE CLINIC I GO TO HAS A BOOK SHELF THAT HAS A SIGN THAT SAYS: TAKE ONE OR LEAVE ONE.
IF I BUY ONE, I OFTEN GIVE THEM AS GIFTS.
BOOKS ARE THE MOST RECYCLABLE THINGS THERE IS AND IT IS SAD WHEN THEY ARE THROWN AWAY.
THEY NEVER LOSE THEIR VALUE.
MY DAUGHTER BRENDA ALSO HAS A BOOK SHELF THAT SAYS: TAKE ONE, LEAVE ONE IN HER BEAUTY SHOP.
THE IDEA IS CATCHING ON BUT IT IS NICE THAT YOU REMIND PEOPLE OF IT.
WE NEED BOOKS SO MUCH THESE DAYS. TELEVISION IS NO LONGER FOR INTELLIGENT ADULTS EXCEPT FOR PBS. THERE IS SO LITTLE THAT IS WORTH WATCHING.
AND WHY SHOULD WE ALLOW THE TELEVISION TO FLOOD OUR MINDS WITH TRASH?
WHEN I WAS BAPTIZED, I WAS WASHED UNTIL I WAS WHITE AS SNOW BUT I NEED RECLEANING EVERYDAY BECAUSE SO MUCH DIRT IN LIFE IS UNAVOIDABLE. AND A GOOD DECENT BOOK WILL DO IT.
Thanks for the info. I dropped by where the store use to be, and was shocked to find it gone. I was hoping that myabe she just moved and if I did a search I could find the new store. Oh well.
I too stopped by the SR 427 and was so diasappointed that the shop had closed. They always had exactly what I was looking for. Like Shelley, I was hoping they had moved to a new location. They will be missed!!!! I’m curious as to where they sent all there books???
