It is ROSIE. I have no idea where that came from, but it is feminine, jaunty and denotes a little petaled beauty, which she is in some fashion. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. Our two current dogs are named Ernie (for Ernie Kovacs) and Edie (for his wife Edie Adams). But I have a nickname for Edie--just kinda came about, spontaneously--and sometimes call her "Smidgen." Maybe because she came second, after Ernie, so she was our little one, for a while. If I'm calling her, after not seeing her for a while, she is Edie. but if we are walking together or doing something together, I'll call her Smidgen. I think it's a good name--but whatever your son chooses, that'll be the one your little heartbreaker will respond to! She's very cute, and we should have more pictures. Wow!
