Awww you have posted two of my favorite things: a monarch chrysalis and a nest full of baby birds. The Titmouse is a great little bird with its crested head and saucy attitude.
The caterpillar metamorphosis is very cool, and I love the little titmice!
When we were in Orlando last month a titmouse landed close to me on my walk back to our room — I got a picture of its profile, but it’s so small it’ll take some cropping to see the little guy. Still, it cheered me up just to see one again!
Are they common in Florida? I don’t see them often in CA.
It’s pretty awesome that you know right where to find these little hidden lives, too. That you’re that connected to your surrounding world.
Too often, I think I’m up in my head, and completely miss what’s going on around me.
@ombudsBen – We get quite a few titmice. This is the second year they have nested here. They are so cute with their little round eyes and pointy heads.
@amuirin – It’s not always easy finding the chrysalis. Out of eighteen caterpillars, I’ve unearthed only five or six in that state. I am playing Where’s Waldo? all the time.
