Oh….wow. This is scary…….
Not really, C’hele. I grew up shooting cans on the riverbank with my Dad. Now I shoot with my son, who is rising in competitive ranks. In fact he took both golds in his class in the Florida Sunshine State Games last week. I know it is hard for some to understand that we consider guns as a sport (no animal killing!). No sticking up 7-11’s either. š
Told you I was bored tonight. LOL I have been reading your blog at last. First time since the gekco thing. I enjoyed the part about Jerry orderding all those things. I get tempted ever once in a while.
I guess I will go to bed and turn on my radio. Maybe there will be something interesting on it and if not, it will put me to sleep and put me out of my misery.
No, this is not a suicide note. LOL
Your sis, Etta
P.S. Only Obama’s speeches could bore me to death.
One of my wife’s lifelong friends lives alone across the street from us. Three nights ago an intruder broke into her house while she was sleeping. When some noise he made woke her she grabbed a gun and went to investigate. She came face to face with him in her foyer. She shot at him, but apparently missed (the bullet was found in the front door), and ran back to her bedroom, locked the door and called 911. When the sheriff’s deputies got there he was nowhere to be found.
It’s hard to say if he would have harmed her if she didn’t have the gun, but she is glad she did.
In the heat of the moment you never know if you would be on top of things or not, or shoot straight, but I’d rather be armed and prepared. I sleep with a S&W .32 HR by my bed and also a blinding flashlight like the police carry. Also go to the gun range pretty regularly to stay familiar with my weapon. I think your neighbor did very well and would bet she saved herself from great harm. More power to her.
I recently went to the S&W Nat’l Steel Championship Match in Titusville. The best in the nation competed and it was amazing to watch them. My son went headlong into the competition and did very well. He won about $800 in merchandise his first time out. I would like to be sitting by any of those guys or gals if a shooter came in a McDonalds. They were the most disciplined crowd I have ever seen. I wish some liberals had a chance to see what the “gun culture” is really like for the most part.
